My name is Alyssa Kress. For the past 15 years I have helped edit dozens of manuscripts for my critique group, which at various times has included published authors Kathy Bennett, Leigh Court, Jenna Ives, and Cathy Yardley. As an author myself, I’ve sometimes felt insulted at being called a good editor, but I’ve stopped feeling bad about the epithet. After publishing 10 books independently, including Marriage by Mistake, which was a bestseller on the Amazon free romance list for almost two years, I believe it’s possible to be both a good author and a good editor.

I truly love reading material that’s at any stage prior to publishing. I enjoy discovering the inner seed of a story and figuring out how to bring it to full blossom. It’s just as satisfying for me to adjust those small details that will polish a finished manuscript. I hope we can work together.
